Course description

At Golden Key Russian School, we recognize that there are many subject areas and aspects of the Russian culture - beyond language, math and theater - to which would love to expose our students at this very exciting and creative time in their lives. Therefore, we designed a one-of-a-kind class that combines elements of many different disciplines. The class offerings draw specialists from assorted fields, capitalize on their areas of expertise and present our students a broad spectrum of exciting topics in an eye-opening, hands-on, age-appropriate, fun way. As is the case with all other Sunday Enrichment Program classes, all activities in this class are conducted in Russian. The materials and information is tailored to the children’s age groups. During the Hands-On Exploration class, our students: Learn concepts and work on projects from different areas of science, including physics, chemistry, astronomy, medicine, and engineering - to name only a few. Develop their fine motor skills and imagination through a series of arts, crafts and handiwork projects. Topic areas build upon and are linked to relevant Russian cultural references. Test their logic by learning how to solve age-appropriate and fun puzzles and brainteasers. Strengthen their teamwork and collaboration (as well as their Russian communication skills) by working on projects together. Share jokes, stories and laughs.
